"What if I just want to get rid of it?"

Almost all ghost encounters are neither positive nor negative but in a few rare cases there may be a time where action is needed to safeguard a home owner from potentially malevolent entities. The first thing a home owner can do is simply tell whatever that is there to leave. It is your home now and you are the owner, this may be a hard thing for some home owners who may be tied to your particular house just as you now are to realize. In such an event you must also investigate when these events began. Did they start spontaneously? Or did they start after someone played with a ouji board in there room every night? Depending on circumstances reclaiming your home may be accomplished by a basic request to the ghost.

There are other incidents that may not be so easy though. The house history may be truly negative, it could be a site of untold horrors and suffering. In these cases there is the possibility of there not just being one or two harmless prankster ghosts but rather darker energy and in fact could be harboring demonic activity. In this case you have no alternative but to rid your house of these entities. You however are not likely going to be be able to do this alone. Though rare sometimes it may be necessary to bring in a priest or other spiritual advisor to give council or to attempt to extract the problem from the home. This is not something for armatures to attempt and it is recommended only as a last resort for a home owner who has taken all other routes. Once you have ask the entity to leave, do not make any further attempts to communicate with it.
